| You may be the type of
person who loves to get involved in a hands on sort of way. Builder's
Camp allows you to learn to use tools in a construction project, while
watching a structure take shape. In past years, Builder's Camp has
constructed an archery shed, a tower, and a garage. Just last year,
in 2006, the Builder's Camp re-constructed the Last Chance Filling
Station into a new snack shop - a different kind of filling station.
The original brick and tile building, built for equipment service and
fuel in the mid 1990's
had out lived its original purpose. Originally, the filling station
was designed to have the appearance of a 1920's or 1930's era gas station
complete with pump and lighting. In the makeover, the unique styling of the filling station was preserved while adding a serving counter, a patio roof, and interior cabinetry. Those who attended Builder's Camp will be able to see their work for years to come, as campers enjoy a refreshing snack at the new "Filling Station". Plans for the 2008 project have not yet been finalized. |
