Sailing Camp
Sail the ocean – that is Iowa’s ocean! Are you fascinated with the weather, wind and navigation? Join us for a week during which you will learn about sailing while enjoying the wind and waves.
Our experienced sailors will teach you what you need to know to actually sail a boat on the 11,000 acre Lake Rathbun, often called Iowa’s Ocean. By the end of the week you will be able to sail and you will get your big opportunity!
Sailing camp is open to guys and girls who are entering the seventh,
eighth, ninth, or tenth grades. No previous experience is needed.
Camp Appanoose is committed to observing careful safety precautions.
Other camp options during the week include the Wind-N-Waves, Aviation Camp, and Horse Camp IV. Some activities will be shared with those in the other programs on grounds for the week.
